Intel find fault At Design Chipset Motherboard Sandy Bridge



Source Of CNET NEWS, Daily Tech, and others reports on ugly news, that today 31 Januaries 2011, Intel finds failure at design chipset Cougar Point, namely chipset motherboard for Sandy Bridge model P67 and H67.

The failure there is at controller SATA, that speed of data transferred will be slow along time runs. This thing is automatic will affect to Hard Disk Drive, Optical Disc Drive and Solid State Drive which menancap at port SATA in motherboard P67 and H67. Management Intel gives commando to rif order chipset OEM Cougar Point to vendor motherboard.

Platform consumer Sandy Bridge Core i5 and Core i7 is hoped not panic and remain to applies the PC Desktop. Intel suggests in the event of problems at slow of transfer of data because of the breakdown port SATA, hence soon contacts vendor motherboard to claim warranty replacement.

Situs Anandtech just updates news that slow SATA port is intended is port 2, 3, 4 and 5 namely port SATA 2. For port SATA 3 in 0 and 1 motherboard P67 makes not much difference. Solution whereas consumer Intel Sandy Bridge is expected to strikes storage drives to port SATA 3 Intel, 0 and 1, extreme right back part nearby RAM. FYI HDD/ODD/SSD which berinterface SATA 2 still can be striked to port SATA 3, there is backward compatibility. Other news, consumer motherboard with total 8 port SATA can exploit 2 addition of port SATA 3 from controller Marvell which also safe is applied.
